I am a 4^th year undergraduate student at Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, China, majoring in Computer Science which is a premier Engineering Institute in China. I am interested in the field of “Image and Signal Processing and Information Theory (and Applications) ”, and I want to pursue research in this field.

I have read abstract of some of your publications and found it interesting. I am writing with reference to the possibility of obtaining internship experience under you during the period from May to July 2008 in order to gain experience to enhance my knowledge and skills in this area.

GPA我不懂。不过第一个那孩子的口气给人感觉超客气，客气的有点卑躬屈膝了，反正我我是受不了那么多sir。

个人认为陶瓷有4个阶段

第一个阶段应该尽量简短，不要写任何关于个人背景的东西，只是询问一下这个program/lab/prof.今年是否招收新的学生。

第二个阶段（如果招收新学生），可以把自己的简历发给老师，另外通读老师近期和/或以前的一些具有代表性的PAPER（可以从期刊/会议的档次上看出来），做一个Research Proposal发给老师。

第三个阶段，应该把自己的申请材料都递交到学校之后，告知老师自己的申请ID等信息，通知老师自己已经提交了申请，并进一步表达想接受老师supervise的意愿。

第四个阶段，保持联系，可以适当的询问和/或讨论一些和老师研究兴趣相关的专业问题，也可以进一步深入地向老师展示自己的研究背景和科研思路。
