Group Overview

The Innovation Engineering Group is a new incubation group based in Microsoft Research Asia. Here teams are small, the environment is unstructured, and the work is fast-paced. One of our projects is an online marketplace that will be hosted in and targeted for the U.S. The project will be publicly available, and leverages technologies such as Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007, ASP.NET, and C#.

Position: Software Design Engineer in Test (SDET)

Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for two or more motivated and experienced students, who have potentialin Software Design Intern Engineer in Test (SDE/T), to help drive
quality into our product and test automation on the next release of our two Web-based Project.

You will have an opportunity to help design features and work closely with the development team on the implementation, code reviews, and testing of these features. Tests are written by both development and test teams and SDE/T’s have opportunities to work in the code as well. You will also frequently interact with Dev team, PM team, and other test teams to understand testing requirements and methodologies, writing test plans and specs, and to ensure timely resolution of problems.

Required Qualifications:

If you are

1.     Proficiency with C#/ASP.net

2.     JScript/Javascript, AJAX, Dynamic HTML and SOAP is big plus

3.     Proven ability and desire to find quality bugs and break software

4.     Independently work on owned features and work well within a team environment

5.     Great verbal and written communication skills

6.     Demonstrated understanding of testing methodology, test automation, debugging code

7.      6+ months Full-time internship with Supervisor’s permission;
