Group Overview
Using our voices to communicate continues to be the most natural and the easiest way to exchange ideas and thoughts. At MSR Asia, the Speech Group is working hard to turn their ideas into reality and improve spoken-language technologies, enable human-computer voice interaction, and enrich human-to-human voice communications. The group’s current focus includes speech recognition to enable computers to facilitate access to data, help create content, and perform tasks; speech synthesis to enable computers to speak with a human-sounding voice, to respond and provide information, and to read; and spoken-document retrieval and processing to enrich communication between people.
Roles & Responsibilities
You will experience a whole research process.
1. Survey on a research topic we assign to you;
2. Propose new ideas and discuss with other team members;
3. Do experiment to test the ideas, analyze the result and improve the performance;
4. Write a paper to publish your work;
Required Qualifications:
If you are
1. MS/PhD in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering or any related technical field;
2. Strong background on Statistic Learning Theory and Speech Signal Processing;
3. Good programming capability in C++, Perl, Matlab;
4. Good reading and written English;
5. Good communication skills and excellent teamwork;
6. Research Experience on TTS or ASR related topic is plus;
7. Experience on HTK development is plus.
8. 6+ months Full-time internship with Supervisor’s permission;
